Who Decides My Dose?
A licensed U.S. physician through MD Integrations. You can request a dose in your intake, and the physician reviews your age, history, photos and any medications before approving it, or suggesting a different one.
Can I Start At 2.5mg?
Some men do, if the physician agrees it fits, most often for aggressive early loss or TRT. Many start at 0.5mg or 1.5mg and step up after about 90 days.
Why Take More Than 0.5mg?
Because scalp DHT, the number that matters for your hair, keeps falling as the dose rises. In Olsen et al. (J Am Acad Dermatol, 2006), scalp DHT dropped 51% at 0.5mg and 79% at 2.5mg. 1.5mg wasn’t tested in that trial; it sits in between, at an estimated ~65%.
Is 2.5mg Better Than Finasteride 5mg?
In the same Olsen 2006 trial, dutasteride 2.5mg produced greater hair counts than finasteride 5mg at 12 and 24 weeks, and lowered scalp DHT by 79% versus 41% for finasteride 5mg.
Is A Higher Dose Less Safe?
Higher doses mean more drug exposure, which can change both the potential benefit and the potential risk, and there’s less long-term hair-loss-specific safety data at higher doses. That’s why a physician reviews and signs off on every dose before it ships.
